El Padre Fonseca le gustaría agradecer a todas las personas involucradas con el retiro de padres y padrinos que se llevo a cabo este viernes 4 de marzo, y sábado 5 de marzo.  Muchas gracias a todos los contribuyentes, catequistas y coros que hicieron de este retiro de padres y padrinos de los candidatos un evento especial.  También al ministerio de San José por ayudar con el estacionamiento, con la ayuda del Sr. Ricardo Muñoz y gracias a los señores Víctor De La Riva, Bernie Muñoz, Luis Guzman y José Álvarez por hacer el trabajo duro.  Que Dios los bendiga a todos.

Fr. Fonseca would like to thank all the people involved in the retreat for the parents and sponsors that took place on Friday, March 4 and Saturday, March 5.  Thank you to all who contributed, catechists and choirs that made this retreat for parents and sponsors a special event.  Also, the San Jose ministry for patching up the parking lot, with the help of Mr. Ricardo Muñoz and thanks to Mr. Victor De La Riva, Bernie Muñoz, Luis Guzman and Jose Alvarez for all the work.  God bless you all.

Retiro de Open Arms - Open Arms Retret

RETIRO: “NO TENGAS MIEDO” es el tema para la Conferencia de Espíritu Santo anual del 11-12 Marzo en el Centro Alas, en el 501 East Paisano.  Invitados especiales: el Padre Bob Hogan, co-fundador de los Hermanos de los Discípulos Amados, una orden religiosa Carismática y Mariana basada en San Antonio, Texas.  La Hermana Linda Koontz, de Sagrado Nombre de Jesús y María, fundadora del Misión Internacional del Espíritu del Señor, El Paso.  El Padre Bob es un sacerdote dinámico que ha hecho misiones por todo estados unidos y Canadá.  La Hermana Linda es una religiosa, con un don al hablar, también conocida por su trabajo con los pobres de Cd. Retiro para Padres - Parent Retreat

Atención Padres y Padrinos de los Candidatos de Primera Comunión y Confirmación, habrá un retiro para padres y padrinos el fin de Semana de 4-5 de Marzo en el Montana Vista Hall localizado en el 14697 Greg Dr.  El horario para el viernes será de las 6:00pm a las 9:00pm y el sábado de las 8:00am a las 8:30pm.  Para mas información llamen a la oficina parroquial al 855-2217.

Progreso 2016 - Progress 2016

Hoy es el día en el que El Señor Obispo Mark Seitz y su parroquia le han pedido su apoyo para Progreso 2016.  Nuestro pasaje de las Santas Escrituras es: “Bienaventurados los misericordiosos, porque ellos alcanzarán misericordia.” Mateo 5:7, este pasaje de las Escrituras nos llama a poner la misericordia de Dios a trabajar para mostrar compasión a los demás.  Una forma de hacerlo es apoyando el trabajo de los ministerios diocesanos a través de la Campaña de Progreso.  Recuerde que Dios pide que su donativo sea generoso.  Por favor, haga su oración y compromiso financiero esta semana.  Nuestra meta parroquial es de $22,633 y el 100% de su participación es crucial para ayudarnos a llegar a nuestra meta.  Tomen el tiempo para recoger un sobre y hacer su compromiso con devoción. Today is the day Bishop Seitz and your parish asks your support with Progress 2016.  Our scripture passage is “Blessed are the Merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7, this passage calls us to put God’s mercy to work by showing compassion to others.  One way to do this is to support the work of the Diocesan ministries through the Progress Appeal.  Please pray and make your financial commitment this week.  Our goal for the parish is of $22,633 and 100% of your participation is essential to help us reach our goal.  Please take some time to prayerfully discern your commitment.  We invite everyone to participate in the Progress Annual Appeal through prayer and the gift of Progress.  Please make your commitment today.  Thank you for your supporting your Diocese and parish.

Ambiente Seguro - Safe Environment

Horario durante la Visita del Papa - Church Schedule during the Pope's Visit

Misa Semanal: Debido a la visita del Papa Francisco, se suspenderá, solo por estos días la misa de la tarde.  No habrá misa del 16 de Febrero al 18 y comenzaremos de nuevo el 19.  Gracias y disculpe la inconveniencia. También la oficina y la parroquia estarán cerradas el 17 de febrero, para que todos puedan ver este evento desde sus hogares.

Weekday Mass: Due to the visit of Pope Francis, weekday mass, will be suspended for the next few days.  There will be no mass from February 16 to the 18 and we will renew again on the 19.  Thank you for your time and sorry for the inconvenience.  Also, the office and church will be closed on the 17 of February so everyone can go home and enjoy this event.

Boletos para a Misa Papal en Juárez - Tickets for the Papal Mass in Juárez

Visita Papal: Como han de saber, se anunciaron que todas las parroquias recibirán un numero limitado boletos para la misa de su Santidad en Cd. Juárez, si gusta entrar a la rifa  de esos boletos, necesitara llenar el papel para la rifa con los siguientes datos; Nombre, Teléfono y Numero de Pasaporte o Tarjeta Residencial. Para todos los demás, esta es la información para el Sun Bowl si esta interesado en ir al evento en UTEP.  Tenemos algunos en Venta en la Oficina Parroquial, por tiempo Limitado.  Esta es la información que tenemos sobre ese evento: Sun Bowl abrirá sus puertas a las 12:00pm, el programa musical comenzara a la 1:30pm y la misa de su Santidad comenzara a las 4:00pm y será transmitida, NO habrá misa o servicio de comunión, esto es solo un evento comunitario para ver la misa.  El evento terminaran a las 6:00pm.  Este es el Código de descuento FRANCIS (Escrito de esta manera).  Los boletos están a $15 pero con el código serian $10.  Los boletos tienen que comprarse en las taquillas de UTEP en persona o por teléfono.  Ticketmaster no aceptara este código.  Cada boleto tendrá un asiento asignado, cuando compre boletos serán por secuencia así que compre suficientes para que todos se sienten en la misma área. Todos los boletos incluyen una cuota de $3 de UTEP, si compra los boletos serán $10 con código mas aparte $3 en un total de $13.  Si los compra por medio de Ticketmaster, habrá cargos adicionales y aparte los $3 que en total serian $3+$15+costo adicional = a mas de $18 dolares. Papal Visit: As you may know, it was announced that there would be a limited amount of tickets for the Mass in Cd. Juarez.  If you are interested in participating in the raffle for  those tickets, you need to fill out the raffle ticket paper with the following information; Name, Phone Number and Passport or Resident Card Number.  For all those who are interested in the Sun Bowl, here is the information for the event at UTEP.  We have some in the Parish Office for a limited time. This is the information for the event: The Sun Bowl will open its gates at 12:00pm, the musical program will commence at 1:30pm and the Mass of Pope Francis will be shown at 4:00pm, there is NO mass or a communion service, this is only a community-viewing event.  The event will conclude at 6:00pm. This is the discount Code FRANCIS (as is).  The tickets are $15, but with the code they will be $10.  You have to buy the tickets at the UTEP box offices or by phone.  Ticketmaster will not accept this code.  Each ticket sold will be an assigned seat; all tickets will be in sequential order, buy enough so that everyone can be seated in the same are.  All tickets will have a $3 from UTEP; if you buy the tickets they will be $10 with the code, plus a $3 fee for a total of $13.  If you buy them through Ticketmaster there will be additional costs, plus the $3 fee that in total would be $3+$15+additional cost=more than $18. El Padre John Lucido descansó en la paz del Señor.  Los funerales fueron el lunes pasado en Monahans, Texas.  Por favor, oren por su eterno descanso.

Father John Lucido was called to our Lord.  His funeral took place last Monday in Monahans, Texas.  Please pray for his eternal repose.

EPISO

EPISO tendrá una presentación sobre opciones accesibles para todas las personas que no tiene seguro medico o no calificaron para Obamacare.  La Academia de Salud será este miércoles 3 de febrero a las 7:00pm en el Centro Pablo VI.  Asesores Financieros de UMC estarán presentes para contestar preguntas y programar entrevistas.  Por favor haga tiempo de venir y escuchar sus opciones si no califica para Obamacare o si no tiene seguro medico.

EPISO will have a presentation about affordable healthcare for all of the people who do not have healthcare or did not qualify for Obamacare.  The Healthcare Academy will be on February 3rd at 7:00pm at Pope Paul VI Center.  Financial Counselors from UMC will be here to answer questions and schedule appointments.  Please make time to come and listen to your options if you do not have Healthcare or did not qualify for Obamacare.

Un saludo especial desde la ciudad eterna.  El Domingo por la mañana llegan los Padres Mariano López y Saúl Pacheco para la Convención con motivo de los 50 años de la Optatam Totius and Presbyterorum Ordinis cuya sede será la Pontificia Universidad Urbaniana.  La convención tiene como lema: "Una Vocación, Una Formación, Una Misión".

 

Special greetings from Rome.  Next Sunday morning Fathers Saúl Pacheco and Mariano López will be arriving from El Paso.  As you already know, we are here to celebrate 50 years since Vatican II took place.  The Convention that we will be attending focuses on two documents that refer to the formation of priests: "Optatam Totius and Presbyterorum Ordinis".  The motto of the convention is: "One Vocation, One Formation, One Mission".

Retiro de Cana II - Cana II Retreat

Retiro de Cana II: Es una oportunidad para los divorciados o parejas casadas por el civil que se quieran casar por la Iglesia Católica.  También sirve como un ejemplo activo de la compasión de la iglesia al dirigirse a las necesidades especiales de parejas que se quieren volver a casar.  Es un programa ministerial de pareja a pareja.  Parejas que se han casado de nuevo ayudando a parejas que viven juntas o casadas por el civil ha hacer preparaciones realísticas para su boda sacramental.  El 5 de diciembre del 2015 de las 8:00am las 5:00pm con una cuota de $65.00.  Para inscribirse por favor comuníquese con Leann o el Diacono Frank en la Oficina de Matrimonio y Familia al 875-8401.

Cana II Retreat: Is an opportunity for divorced or civilly married couples to remarry in the Catholic Church. It also, serves as an active example of the church’s compassion by addressing the special needs of remarrying couples. It is a couple to couple peer ministry program. Remarried sponsor couples helping cohabiting or civilly married couples make realistic preparations for their sacramental re-marriage. On December 5, 2015 from 8:00am-5:00pm with the fee of $65.00. Segunda Colecta - Second Collection

Campaña Católica del Desarrollo Humano: Habrá una segunda colecta el próximo domingo para la Campaña Católica del Desarrollo Humano (CCDH) que da becas a diferentes entidades por todos los Estados Unidos que se dedican a mejorar el bienestar de las comunidades, un ejemplo es EPiSO, que recibe una beca que les ayuda en su trabajo con todas las comunidades por todo El Paso.  Por favor den generosamente.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development: There will be a second collection next Sunday for the Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) which gives grants to different entities all over the US that dedicates their work to improve the well being of their community, one example is EPiSO, they receive a grant to help them in their work with all the communities all over El Paso. Please give generously.

Roma: Convención Internacional - Rome: International Convention

Roma: El Padre Rolando junto con el Padre Saúl Pacheco y el Padre Mariano López asistirán a un congreso convocado por el Papa Francisco en Roma con motivo de los 50 años de los documentos sobre la formación sacerdotal que surgieron del Vaticano II.  El Padre agradece oraciones para que vaya y regrese con bien.  Más información en la última edición del periódico diocesano.

Rome: Father Rolando together with Fr. Saúl Pacheco and Father Mariano López will attend a congress summoned by Pope Francis in Rome in order to commemorate 50 years since the writings of Vatican II regarding the formation of priests.  Please pray for a safe journey. Noche de Discernimiento - Discernment Evening

If you are a single young man, have you asked yourself if God is calling you to be a priest?  This is a question that all catholic young men should ask seriously before ruling out the possibility.  We invite all Catholic young single men to attend an Evening of Discernment at Saint Charles Seminary/Vocation Office on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm (8330 Park Haven, 79907), or at Saint Patrick Cathedral on Friday, November 6th, beginning with 5:15pm mass.  We will have prayer, reflection and a spirit of listening to God’s will in our lives.  Please call the vocation office of the diocese if you have further questions (915) 872-8403.

Retiro de Sacerdotes - Priest Retreat
