Un saludo especial desde la ciudad eterna.  El Domingo por la mañana llegan los Padres Mariano López y Saúl Pacheco para la Convención con motivo de los 50 años de la Optatam Totius and Presbyterorum Ordinis cuya sede será la Pontificia Universidad Urbaniana.  La convención tiene como lema: "Una Vocación, Una Formación, Una Misión".

 

Special greetings from Rome.  Next Sunday morning Fathers Saúl Pacheco and Mariano López will be arriving from El Paso.  As you already know, we are here to celebrate 50 years since Vatican II took place.  The Convention that we will be attending focuses on two documents that refer to the formation of priests: "Optatam Totius and Presbyterorum Ordinis".  The motto of the convention is: "One Vocation, One Formation, One Mission".

Retiro de Cana II - Cana II Retreat

Retiro de Cana II: Es una oportunidad para los divorciados o parejas casadas por el civil que se quieran casar por la Iglesia Católica.  También sirve como un ejemplo activo de la compasión de la iglesia al dirigirse a las necesidades especiales de parejas que se quieren volver a casar.  Es un programa ministerial de pareja a pareja.  Parejas que se han casado de nuevo ayudando a parejas que viven juntas o casadas por el civil ha hacer preparaciones realísticas para su boda sacramental.  El 5 de diciembre del 2015 de las 8:00am las 5:00pm con una cuota de $65.00.  Para inscribirse por favor comuníquese con Leann o el Diacono Frank en la Oficina de Matrimonio y Familia al 875-8401.

Cana II Retreat: Is an opportunity for divorced or civilly married couples to remarry in the Catholic Church. It also, serves as an active example of the church’s compassion by addressing the special needs of remarrying couples. It is a couple to couple peer ministry program. Remarried sponsor couples helping cohabiting or civilly married couples make realistic preparations for their sacramental re-marriage. On December 5, 2015 from 8:00am-5:00pm with the fee of $65.00. Segunda Colecta - Second Collection

Campaña Católica del Desarrollo Humano: Habrá una segunda colecta el próximo domingo para la Campaña Católica del Desarrollo Humano (CCDH) que da becas a diferentes entidades por todos los Estados Unidos que se dedican a mejorar el bienestar de las comunidades, un ejemplo es EPiSO, que recibe una beca que les ayuda en su trabajo con todas las comunidades por todo El Paso.  Por favor den generosamente.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development: There will be a second collection next Sunday for the Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) which gives grants to different entities all over the US that dedicates their work to improve the well being of their community, one example is EPiSO, they receive a grant to help them in their work with all the communities all over El Paso. Please give generously.

Roma: Convención Internacional - Rome: International Convention

Roma: El Padre Rolando junto con el Padre Saúl Pacheco y el Padre Mariano López asistirán a un congreso convocado por el Papa Francisco en Roma con motivo de los 50 años de los documentos sobre la formación sacerdotal que surgieron del Vaticano II.  El Padre agradece oraciones para que vaya y regrese con bien.  Más información en la última edición del periódico diocesano.

Rome: Father Rolando together with Fr. Saúl Pacheco and Father Mariano López will attend a congress summoned by Pope Francis in Rome in order to commemorate 50 years since the writings of Vatican II regarding the formation of priests.  Please pray for a safe journey. Fiesta de Disfraces - Costume Party

 

Agradecimiento:  El Padre Fonseca quiere agradecerle a todos los voluntarios que ayudaron en la Fiesta de Disfraces este pasado viernes aquí en la parroquia.  Gracias por todo su tiempo y esfuerzo, que Dios los bendiga y de nuevo muchas gracias por el apoyo.

Noche de Discernimiento - Discernment Evening

If you are a single young man, have you asked yourself if God is calling you to be a priest?  This is a question that all catholic young men should ask seriously before ruling out the possibility.  We invite all Catholic young single men to attend an Evening of Discernment at Saint Charles Seminary/Vocation Office on Tuesday, November 3rd at 7pm (8330 Park Haven, 79907), or at Saint Patrick Cathedral on Friday, November 6th, beginning with 5:15pm mass.  We will have prayer, reflection and a spirit of listening to God’s will in our lives.  Please call the vocation office of the diocese if you have further questions (915) 872-8403.

Retiro de Sacerdotes - Priest Retreat

La próxima semana el Padre Rolando estará junto los demás sacerdotes diocesanos en retiro en Las Cruces, NM.  Les pedimos oraciones por todos los sacerdotes. El Padre regresa el Viernes.

Ambiente Seguro - Safe Environment

Atención a Todos los Ministerios y sus Voluntarios: El horario de sesiones para el entrenamiento de Ambiente Seguro ya se encuentra por todas partes de la parroquia.  Aquí esta un resumen: Las sesiones son el sábado 24 de octubre de las 9:00am a las 12:00pm en español y el miércoles 28 de octubre de las 6:00pm a las 9:00pm en español y sábado 7 de noviembre de 9:00am a 12:00pm en inglés.  Pedimos una donación de $6, y las sesiones son limitadas a 50 personas por sesión. Para inscripción por favor vayan a virtusonline.org.  TODAS LAS SESIONES SERAN DADAS AQUÍ EN SAN JUAN DIEGO.

Attention All Ministries and Volunteers: The schedules for the training sessions for Safe Environment are all over the parish.  Here is a summary: The sessions will be Saturday, October 24 from 9:00am to 12:00pm in Spanish, and on Wednesday, October 28 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm in Spanish and Saturday November 7, from 9:00am to 12:00pm in English. Campaña de Progreso - Progress Campaign

Campaña de Progreso: De Parte del Obispo Seitz y la Fundación, queremos agradecerles a ustedes feligreses que hicieron sus donaciones generosas para ayudarnos a llegar a nuestra meta. Como han de saber, la Apelación de Progreso apoya a muchos ministerios importantes incluyendo el Seminario de San Carlos, la Oficina de Educación y Servicio de Consejería Católica entre otras.  Es por eso que queremos invitar a todos los feligreses que no han tenido la oportunidad de donar, el dar un REGALO SOLO POR UNA VEZ a Progreso, la apelación del Obispo.  Al dar a la apelación, estamos ayudando a nuestra propia iglesia de llegar a nuestra meta individual para este año y asegurara el trabajo de los 17 ministerios fundados por Progreso 2015, que en retorno nos ayudara a trabajar en comunión para llenar nuestros papeles como fieles en la mayordomía.  Nuestra meta: $16702.00 lo que se comprometió: $3,330.00 lo que se ha pagado al día: $2061.00.  Gracias y que Dios los bendiga.

Progress Campaign:  On behalf of Bishop Seitz and the Foundation, we want to thank all parishioners who so generously have sent their commitment to help us reach our goal!  As you know, the Progress Appeal supports important diocesan ministries including St. Charles Seminary, the Office of Education and Catholic Counseling Services, among others.  That is why we want to invite all parishioners who have not had the opportunity to pledge, to give a ONE-TIME GIFT to Progress, the Bishop’s Appeal. By giving to the Appeal, we are helping our own parish meet our individual goal for this year and will ensure the work of the 17 ministries funded by Progress 2015, which in turn will help us work in communion toward fulfilling our roles as faithful stewards.  Our goal: $16,702.00 Pledges up to date: $3,330.00 Payments up to date: $2,610.00.
